Spotlight Database: African American Experience




Learn about African American history this month and any month with one of our newest databases, African American Experience by Greenwood Electronic Media.

The North Campus Library offers this and over 100 more electronic databases for student use. These can be accessed from any Internet computer, even off-campus. All you need is your student ID number; the PIN is the last four digits of that number. New Databases Now!

North Campus Library has some new databases that are worth taking a look at. Here are just a few, with descriptions from the vendors:

American Song (Alexander Street Press) - a history database that contains 50,000 tracks and allows people to hear and feel the music from America's past. The database will include songs by and about American Indians, miners, immigrants, slaves, children, pioneers, and cowboys. Included in the database are the songs of Civil Rights, political campaigns, Prohibition, the Revolutionary War, the Civil War, anti-war protests and more.

Tests In Print (Ebsco) - a comprehensive bibliography to all known commercially available tests that are currently in print in the English language. TIP provides vital information to users including test purpose, test publisher, in-print status, price, test acronym, intended test population, administration times, publication date(s), and test author(s).

World History Collection (Ebsco) - offers a global look at history with content from Africa, Asia, North and South America, Europe and the Middle East. World History Collection contains cover-to-cover full text for more than 130 titles, including many peer-reviewed journals. Full text dates as far back as 1964.
